This original watercolor is 13"x10", image 7.5" diameter.

This painting was made on a trip to Italy, 2008. The hillsides surrounding Florence climb up and away from the city center. I took a bus up to Fiesole, wanting to see an Annunciation painting in a small church there. The church was closed for Easter cleaning. I wandered around the area, and found a spot to sit and look. Sketching is a natural outcome from sitting and looking. Similar to Fiesole I, this painting delights in the slender, upright growth of cedar trees, sprinkled throughout the hillsides around this town.
