Trees are some of the most challenging things to work with: their natural energy is completely present to our eyes. Organizing that with a visual language creates something that includes more than just leaves, branches, or the massed form that a copse of trees conveys. These watercolors hover between the information my eyes see, and the less-than-visible things my being senses.
All of my watercolors are created outside; I draw on site with watercolor pencils. They are finished back in the studio where I work with water and brush to create broad forms. I use prepared paper for all my watercolor work: the paint settles and dries more slowly, creating a broad range of effects I cannot directly control. This painting was created in Westchester County at the Croton River.
This original watercolor is 15"x13", with a 11" diameter image.
You can order this image at many different sizes, up to and including 66"h x57"w. There are also a few choices on what to print the image on. It will look best on a matte, white paper, as that is closest to what it was created on. There are also options here for you to frame the piece. Please get in touch if you get stuck, especially regarding making choices in the presentation of the print.
