Recently I began working with a new material. I decided to try it out as a ground for watercolors. This painting is part of a small suite I created using this ground of Venetian plaster, which in this piece is tinted.

Created in Wisconsin, the painting depicts the forms of trees as they frame a section of land that contains a garden. The trees bend toward the protected garden, embracing it with their kind energies.

The original artwork is 12" x 12", 11" image diameter, with Venetian plaster, watercolor on prepared paper.
