What does matter and energy look like in their primordial states?

Firmament, or the vault of heaven, contains an idea that we can experience the sky from somewhere else. I don't necessarily mean, as from an airplane window. We see through the sky when we look at the night time stars.

It seems to me that the energy which formed our firmament remains in touch with it. That's the dynamic of energy in this little painting: something touching something else. Perhaps the firmament reaches down to our atmosphere, and exchanges greetings of the day, with it.

This painting is made on yupo. Beginning with a layer of Venetian plaster, very thin layers of mica pigment are added. After the work is mounted (on 4-ply sealed mat board) a thin 23k gold band is added. This framing mechanism is two-fold: it separates the paint language from everyday reality, and it also confers on the painting the idea that all energy is sacred.
